Boundaries:
Linda Isle is a 500-foot-wide lagoon, created as a U-shaped yacht turning basin with a total of 6,300 square feet of water frontage. The island can only be reached from the waterfront and/or Bayside Drive on the land side, which is south of Pacific Coast Highway.

Number of Homes:
There are a total of 107 lots on the island, consisting of 106 homes as one home sits on two lots.

Age of Neighborhood:
One of the first homes completed was in 1969. During the sell-out period, lots sold from $65,000 to $250,000.

Builder:
The island was owned by the Irvine Company before it became an island. Until 1949, it was called Shark Island because of the many shark sightings around its shores. 
The 20-acre parcel remained vacant until the 1960s began its five-year development campaign to build out the island. All homes built were custom.

Community Features:
Linda Isle and its natural beauty have provided the setting for a motion picture. Numerous renowned Hollywood personalities have come to Newport Harbor and stayed, as have scores of nationally prominent figures in business, industry, the arts and culture. Only tree-lined avenues greet you when you come out onto the island. A beachside park and tennis court are available for those residents not heading seaward from their personal boat slip.

Schools:
Children attend Newport Heights Elementary School, Ensign Junior High School and Newport Harbor High School.

Shopping:
Bayside Drive Shopping Center is within walking distance and, just a little further on, the famed Newport Center Fashion Island. Walk to Balboa Island and shop or enjoy world-famous Bal-Bars. Linda Isle is within easy access to freeways and John Wayne Airport.
