Big Canyon is bordered to the north by Ford Road, to the east by MacArthur Boulevard, to the south by San Joaquin Hills Road and to the west by Jamboree Road.

Homes:
There are 434 homes in Big Canyon.

Style:
There are three varieties of homes in the neighborhood, as  well as the McLain Condominiums. 
Deane Townhomes offer five models of floor plans with golf course. Custom home sites are all located on the golf course, while Broadmoor Homes in the inner circle feature four different floor plans, but few houses on the golf course.

Builder:
The majority of custom homes were built by either Ron Pollendine or Lynn Valentine, while the Deane Townhomes were built by the Deane Brothers and the Broadmoor Homes were built by Broadmoor.

Age of Neighborhood:
Big Canyon was started in 1972 in an effort by the Irvine company to build a community with a full championship golf course.

Community Features:
Along with magnificent views, a top-rated golf course and highly secure, gated  community, Big Canyon offers a number of parks, tennis facilities and a separate country club membership.

The neighborhood is peaceful and elegant, with a mixture of new and older families. Big Canyon rarely faces the traffic congested of other beach- side communities, even during the heavy summer months.

Schools:
Children attend Harbor View Elementary School or Corona del Mar Junior High and High School.
